Bromeliad plants bring an exotic touch to the home and a sense of the tropicsun-kissed climate. Growing a bromeliad as a houseplant is easy, bringing interesting texture and colour to the interior garden.

These plants need medium to bright light as indoor specimens, and its water needs are easily achieved by filling the cup at the base of the leaves.  Make sure there is always a sufficient amount of water in the base leaf to create moisture for the plant.

Some bromeliads grow well as “air plants,” glued or nested onto logs, moss or other non-soil organic items. An interesting project for the babies (pups) that develop as the plant matures.
