6″ Spider Plant

The spider plants are a well known plant to filter the air creating loads of oxygen during photosynthesis, and is also one of the only house plants that adds moisture to the air.

Caring for spider plants is easy. These tough plants tolerate lots of abuse, making them excellent candidates for newbie gardeners or those without a green thumb. Provide them with well-drained soil and bright, indirect light and they will flourish. Water them well but do not allow the plants to become too soggy, which can lead to root rot. In fact, spider plants prefer to dry out some between waterings.

Spider plants when healthy and happy multiply by sending off long shoots that then sprout a spiderette.  To create offshoots you need to have the spider plant in a bright light, but indirect sun.  Once the spiderette produces roots that is the best time to cut and plant.
